Elder family financial exploitation occurs when a family member is involved in the illegal use of an elder's resources, including financial assets or property. Scholar and Professor Axton Betz-Hamilton joins Mitchell Public Library for Financial Literacy Month to discuss this often unreported crime. The presentation will be live-streamed on the Mitchell Public Library Facebook page on April 21st at 6:00 PM. Follow the link below to join the session.
In this presentation, common themes in victim experiences will be shared, supported by the voices of non-offending family members. Non-offending family members' voices will be included as many EFFE victims are unable to participate due to declines in physical and/or cognitive health.
