Mitchell Public Library and the South Dakota State Library are hosting Scan Day on October 5th. Scan Day is an opportunity for you to bring
in old photographs, documents, postcards, and more to the library and learn how to make a digital copy. Digitization helps preserve the item in case the original gets lost or eventually disintegrates with age. It also makes it easy for you to share your family history with other members of your family.
Registration is required before the event. Time slots are 40 minutes with a limit of 10-15 items per person. Participants should have their items selected ahead of time. Scrapbooks or booklets will take longer, so participants may not get everything scanned in the allotted time. The State Library will provide USB drives for participants.
To register for Scan Day, contact the library at 605-995-8480 or Zack North at firstname.lastname@example.org.
