The City of Mitchell is currently accepting applications from individuals who may be interested in serving on the Parks & Recreation board to fill an unexpired term. The Parks & Recreation Board meets monthly on the second Thursday at 6 pm in City Hall. The Parks & Recreation board is responsible for the following duties: Parkways, landscaping, and the public recreation system. The board recommends an annual operating budget to the City Council for consideration and sets rules and policies for the Parks & Recreation department. According to MCC 3-7, individuals interested in the appointment must either be a resident of the City of Mitchell, an owner of a business within the Mitchell City Limits, or a property owner of property within the city limits. The unexpired term will run from the date of the appointment- July 2021. Anyone interested in the volunteer board appointment can apply by submitting a citizen interest application form to the City of Mitchell. Applications are Due by October 30, 2019.
