Request For "No Parking Zone" - Tabled From The July 16th, 2018 Traffic Commission Meeting

Request from Susan Galpin for a "No Parking Zone" in front of her house/mail boxes located at 1529 Country Drive. Due to an ongoing issue of a resident parking in front of her mailboxes she has been unable to receive mail and packages. (See attached letter with photos).

Request For Street Closure - Corn Palace Mural Dedication

Scott Schmidt, Corn Palace Director, requests the closure of Main Street from 5th - 7th from 8:00am to 3:00pm on Friday, October 26th for the Corn Palace Mural Dedication. There will be motorcycle parking on Main Street, food vendors, as well as a podium and chairs placed on the Main Street for this dedication. In addition, it is requested that there is no parking and all cars removed from the streets mentioned above by 3:00am Friday, October 26th (see attached request).

Request For Street Closure - Parade of Lights

Mitchell Main Street and Beyond would like to request a parade permit, street closures and No Parking for Tuesday, December 4, 2018 for the Parade of Lights beginning at 7:00pm.

The following street closures and no parking beginning at 4:00pm on Tuesday, December 4th.
- Main Street - Railroad Ave through 9th Ave; 9th Ave from Rowley to Lawler
-Railroad Street from Rowley to Kimball
-City Parking lot just north of the Depot Pub and Grill

Float line-up for parade will be at 1st through Railroad on Main Street. Including two blocks east on Railroad Ave and one block west on Railroad.

In Addition, it is requested that street lights on Main Street be turned off at 7:00pm (start time) for the duration of the parade (approximately 8:00pm).
The next Traffic Commission meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 19th, 2018.  The time will be announced at a later date.

Committee meeting agendas are scheduled based on an estimated time of completion. If a meeting concludes prior to its scheduled time the next committee may start its proceedings early.

The City of Mitchell invites all parties to give oral or written comments. If special accommodations are required, please notify the Public Safety Department at 995-8400 at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.
