Request For Street/Parking Lot Closure - The Back 40 Taphouse Grill

Keke, owner of The Back 40 Taphouse Grill, requests the closure of the west side of the 500blk of N Main parking lane and the 5th & Main parking lot for every third Thursday beginning August 15th through October, 2019.  The closures are requested to begin at 2:00pm. Vehicles not removed by 2:00pm will be subject to ticket and tow (see attached request for complete details).

Request For Street Closure - Grace Baptist Church

Pastor Carroll Torberson with Grace Baptist Church requests a temporary closure of the west 1/2 (one half) of the block of West Douglas Avenue from South Edmunds Street east to the alley for a period of 4 1/2 hours from 5:00pm to 9:30pm Friday, August 9, 2019 for the purpose of a Family Night/Carnival which concludes a week of Vacation Bible School. Grace Baptist Church is located on the south side of the street; however, they also own the property on the north side of the street, which would be used for the Carnival. The purpose of the street closure would be for safety reasons, since there will be more than 100 people going back and forth across the street during the Carnival (see attached request for complete details).

The Corn Palace Challenge Bull Ride - Street & Parking Lot Closure Requests

The Corn Palace Challenge Bull Ride is requesting the following closures for their event to be held in the Corn Palace on September 27th & 28th, 2019.

-The closure of the east portion of the City Hall Parking Lot from 5:00am on Tuesday, September 24th through 5:00pm on Monday, September 30th.
- The entire City Hall Parking Lot from 7:00am on Friday, September 27th through 7:00am on Sunday, September 29th.
-The 600 block of North Main Street from 7:00am on Friday, September 27th through 7:00am on Sunday, September 29th.
The next Traffic Commission meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 19th, 2019.  The time will be announced at a later date.

Committee meeting agendas are scheduled based on an estimated time of completion. If a meeting concludes prior to its scheduled time the next committee may start its proceedings early.

The City of Mitchell invites all parties to give oral or written comments. If special accommodations are required, please notify the Public Safety Department at 995-8400 at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.
