CALL MEETING TO ORDER

1.

Replace Existing Handicap Crossing & Forklift Signs On Industrial Avenue

Scott Morgan, with Hendrickson requests to replace existing handicap crossing and forklift signs on Industrial Avenue with solar powered blinking signs. Hendrickson will purchase the new signs. This request is to improve pedestrian safety and forklift access across the street on Industrial Avenue.
2.

Tour De Corn Requests Street / Parking Lot Closures

The Tour De Corn Committee requests to block off the west portion of the City Hall parking lot and adjacent street/block, in the 100 block of East 7th on Saturday, August 17th, 2019 from 6:00am to 10:00am for registration and start of ride. (Closure will be done at 3:30am)

Tour De Corn Requests Parade Permit

The Tour De Corn Committee requests a parade permit for August 17th, 2019 at 8:00am for a police escort and traffic control at 12th & 23rd and Main Street.

Tour De Corn Requests Second Parade Permit

The Tour De Corn Committee requests a second parade permit for August 17th, 2019 at 9:30am for a police escort and traffic control at 12th & 23rd and Main Street.

The Corn Palace Festival Committee Requests Street / Parking Lot Closures

The Corn Palace Festival Committee is requesting the following street and parking lot closures for Corn Palace Festival:  North Main Street from 5th to half way between 8th and 9th Street. (Before TMA Driveway). The Corn Palace Festival Committee also requests a half block west on the 100 block of 6th, 7th and 8th Street and the entire 100 block east on 7th Street on Tuesday, August 20th at 4:30am to Monday, August 26th at 4:30am.

Allow overnight camping from 3:30pm Monday, August 19th to 12 noon on Monday, August 26th for the Goldstar Amusement Box Office/Administrative offices at the north half of  the City Hall parking lot.

The Corn Palace Festival Committee requests the closure of the 5th and Main parking lot, the Corn Palace Plaza parking lot, the remainder of the City Hall parking lot and Corn Palace parking lot, the A.C.T. theatre parking lot (leaving room for them to load/unload through the north part of their parking lot) from 4:30am on Tuesday, August 20th to 4:30am on Monday, August 26th.

The Corn Place Festival Committee will request 3/4 of the parking lot from east to west of the Slumberland parking lot and 3/4 of the parking lot from west to east of the TMA parking lot from 4:30am on Tuesday, August 20th to 4:30am on Monday, August 26th.
6.

Request To Close Alley

Tessier's is requesting the closure of the alley located to the north of their property between 1st & 2nd Avenue and Lawler and Kimball for their 100th Anniversary Celebration.  Closure is requested from 10:00am on July 24th to 9:00pm on July 25th.
The next Traffic Commission meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 19th, 2019.  The time will be announced at a later date.

Committee meeting agendas are scheduled based on an estimated time of completion. If a meeting concludes prior to its scheduled time the next committee may start its proceedings early.

The City of Mitchell invites all parties to give oral or written comments. If special accommodations are required, please notify the Public Safety Department at 995-8400 at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.
