The mission of the Mitchell Public Library and its Board of Trustees is to assist its patrons in their pursuit of lifelong learning by providing equal access to informational, cultural, educational and recreational materials in a variety of formats.
Book sale items are received through community donations and/or library discards. The Mitchell Public Library now has a book sale room that patrons can access anytime the library is open. Proceeds from the book sale are used for children and teen programs at the Library. The public can drop off books anytime the Library is open. All books must be in clean and usable condition.
Mitchell Public Library now subscribes to the Newspaper Archive database, which includes the various Mitchell newspapers published from 1885 through 1977. Try searching for individual people, obituaries, businesses, or other topics. When using a computer in the library please click or tap on the image above to connect to the database. You can also search from home by clicking or tapping on the following link: Newspaper Archive Remote Access. You will be asked to enter your library barcode number from your library card. Then you will need to register and create an account to use the database from home. If you have any questions please contact the library (995-8480).
